After three months with my MacBook, I have decided to part ways with it. Last week, I posted the system up for sale on Craigslist after deciding that it just wasn’t powerful enough as my main computer and couldn’t satisfy my gaming needs. Luckily, after roughly a week, I received an offer and last night, it officially switched hands.
Didn’t think I’d be blogging without my own computer now, did you? I’ve taken the opportunity to build my self a new gaming system. I placed the order last night on the following components:
- Intel Xeon E3110 3.0Ghz 45nm CPU (A re-branded Core 2 Duo E8400 with a slightly lower voltage)
- DFI LanParty DK P35-T2RS Motherboard
- EVGA GeForce 9600GT Superclocked Video Card
- 2GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800Mhz Memory
- 250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 Hard Drive
- Antec Truepower Trio 650W Power Supply
- Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
- Coolermaster CM690 Mid-Tower Case
- Acer 20″ Widescreen LCD Display
A pretty sweet system she shall be which should run Crysis and Call of Duty 4 nicely. The boxes should be on my doorstep within six days
Expect pictures and benchmarks.
So fairwell, sweet MacBook. How I will miss your soft glowing white LED light which kept me awake at night.
Holy Shit!
Thats better then my PC…MUST UPGRADE TO BEAT DAVID!!!!!!!
TBH Acer monitors suck.
@Eric: Haha, not entirely. You’ve still got a better video card than me.
@Austin: How does the monitor suck? You’ve got one yourself. The only problem you had was caused by a bad cable.
I had another problem, Where the monitor wouldn’t show 1440 by 900 correctly. Which made me come to the conclusion, they suck at monitors. Maybe you’ll have better luck.
Good luck! Hope you can wait that long!
Damn sweet system spec there David
can’t wait for pictures.
Are you going to do a CPU-Z Validation once it’s running to show all that almighty system?
Acer monitors do not suck, It appears that my Graphics Card has failed me. 3650 here I come.
