It’s always fun to browse through random sections of the Microsoft web site. And it’s even more fun when you stumble across something that is rather funny.
I took a stroll through the Microsoft Learning site today, and I found the following book which is set to be released in August this year: “How We Test Software at Microsoft”
Being a tester for Microsoft software on various levels myself and having a fair bit of background knowledge on the testing process, it will be interesting to see what Microsoft has so say about the testing process and just how far (or *GASP* close) to the truth this book really will be.
I know I’ll be ordering a copy!
*Awaits comments regarding the quality of Microsoft software and how thin this book will be*
I hope it’s close to the truth- at least that’s the intent. It’s hard to capture everything in a company so large, but it should have something you find interesting…I hope.
Thanks for the comment Alan, I do look forward to getting a copy of this book (and I also hope it is quite close to the truth). Maybe it should be standard issue for testers on Microsoft Connect?
I hope the book becomes standard issue for testers everywhere! Seriously though, the book is designed to bridge a gap between all of the theoretical books on testing and mainly give examples of what techniques/tools/methods MS finds useful, and how those things are applied within the borg.
Seems interesting. I just might have to order a copy as well, even though I too test a lot of MS software.
